About Us

Jamyang Coventry Buddhist Group

As Coventry Buddhist Group, we have been meeting together for the last few years for meditate, study and discuss the Buddhist Teachings.

Our aim was to provide support and resources to Buddhists of all traditions in Coventry, as well as engaging in inter-faith dialogue.

While Coventry Buddhist Group continues with these aims, our close links with Jamyang Buddhist Centre in London and the Tibetan Mahayana Tradition, has led us to form our new study group.

For the part year we have been holding regular public classes in Coventry starting with a series of classes on Buddhist Meditation, and continuing in 2007 with classes in the basic ideas of Buddhism as well as meditation.  Click here for information about our current schedule.

In October 2007 we begin an exciting new chapter in our history, by moving into our first permanent public meeting place.

An industrial estate next to a railway viaduct, may not be everyones first idea of a meditation centre; but The Koco Building where we have been meeting for nearly a year, fulfills our dream of establishing the Buddha's Dharma in Coventry.

A permanent home, means that we can hold events all week that are suitable for everyone, whether they are regular practitioners, new to Buddhism, or simply looking for a place to learn about meditation.
